One of the growing trends in building design and construction today is related to the issue of “Sustainability” or “Green Building”. Sustainability is not solely related to the environment in which we live, but to the lifetime and economics of that environment. Perhaps the largest consumers of energy and materials in the world today are the construction industry and those who live in the subsequent built environments. Our industry is doing more each year to recognize that fact and to deal with the methods of how we can better utilize our natural resources in designing, manufacturing, delivering, constructing, utilizing and recycling the materials that we use to create and live in the built environment.
